He couldn’t wrestle for while, so when he needed to get back in ring shape, he called and asked me to come and train with him. He said, ‘I’m going to be wearing some new gear. Do you want my old stuff?’ So he gave me a couple of pairs of maroon trunks, knee pads and boots. For me, that was a huge honor. I started wearing maroon after that, and I’ve pretty much worn it ever since. I’ve kept the color as a tribute to him.” - Daniel Bryan
